Photo 1

This is where I work as Infant school teacher three days a week. The children at my class are 1-2 years old. We are situated in the ground level floor in the building at the photo. There are 24 children and 5 teachers in the class. The children are divided into two groups - "the owls" and "the bumble-bees" You find the school in the central parts of the city of Gothenburg. Most of the childrens parents and guardians social level are high to middle class. We have few children with other home languages than swedish.
And little about myself - I have worked as an infant school teacher in almost twenty years. My main subjetcs in my work with young children are music, maths, science and ICT. In my upcoming posts I'll give you examples of this.

  1. I can't wait to see inside your building. It is so different in appearance, from the outside, to early childhood facilities in Australia.
I would also like to jump in the pile of leaves under that beautiful tree :)

  2. Yes, The trees are beautiful in this season here! This autumn has been unusual warm therefor the leaves seems to stay longer in the trees. The small children enjoys to collect the leaves in buckets and play with them in the sandbox we have at the schoolyard.

    1. I agree with Ann! The young children must love this aspect of the natural environment!

    2. I agree too! I grew up in Tasmania and this was one of the things I remember - autumn and the oak tree leaves being raked into piles and being able to run and roll in them.... the smell..... :) demonstrates importance of natural environments for learning in our area.
